The Slovak Chamber of English Teachers (SKA) is excited to invite English teachers and teacher trainers from Slovakia, Europe and around the world to share their expertise at its 3rd annual international ELT conference the 22nd and 23rd of September 2017, at Constantine the Philosopher University (UKF) in Nitra, Slovakia.
Early bird registration for participants is open until July 8th!
We’ve chosen this year’s theme – Lifelines & Life Skills: ELT tools for the real world – because we are well aware of the challenges our students face in these current troubled times and that without real-world skills their future is going to be even more difficult. At the same time, we as teachers also need strategies for our lives, to grow as individuals and teachers, as well as to avoid burnout and even depression. For those reasons, we’d like to hear what YOUR strategies are for both your students and for yourself as a teacher.
We welcome all practical workshop proposals, but those dealing with life skills and strategies, whether for students or teachers, are preferred. Of course, proposals on developing language skills and facilitating language learning strategies are also more than welcome. We’d like to hear what you have discovered works with your students.
For SKA 2017 UKF Nitra, we are interested in your ideas on ‘lifelines & life skills’ as related to the following:
- Teaching Young Learners
- Teaching Lower Secondary
- Teaching Upper Secondary
- Teaching Adults/Tertiary
- Teaching Business English
- Global Issues
- Intercultural Communicative Competence
- Teacher Development
- Using Drama in ELT
- Using ICT in ELT
We welcome proposals for 45-minute workshops relating to any of those areas. (If you are interested in presenting a workshop tied to a product, please contact email@example.com for more info.)
Definition of ‘workshop’:
- A practical presentation which shows, rather than tells, an ELT technique/activity/idea that can be used later in the classroom or for personal professional growth. The speaker involves participants through hands-on activities.
To submit your proposal, please fill out speaker’s proposal form.
Deadline: 25 June 2017
We look forward to hearing from you!
